Digitalization, social media, a new generation of buyers and renters with different expectations... As a real estate expert, we are constantly facing new developments that influence and change our sector as well as the market. Naranjo Decamps, a board member at habicom, recently spoke at the Immoscoop 2.0 event at Hangar27 in Edegem, about the challenges in the real estate market of tomorrow.
'Our profession and the real estate market have indeed changed compared to 20 years ago when I started in real estate myself,' says Naranjo, 'Partly due to corona, digitalization has accelerated. Compromises and deeds are increasingly signed digitally and remotely, instead of physically. In addition, we notice that new generations are searching for real estate in a very different way, for example through social media.'
More than just selling and renting
'The service of a real estate agent today is no longer the same as yesterday. Our customers expect more than just a broker who helps them rent or sell their property. We need to relieve our customers throughout the entire sales or rental process. And we can do that by doing more than just managing the sales or rental transaction.'
Naranjo gives as an example the extensive service package that habicom offers to its customers. At habicom, customers can enjoy a number of extra services, including a handyman service that will spruce up your house or apartment for sale, a stylist who dresses up an empty home completely, and soon there will also be a moving service and a cleaning service.
Collaboration
Naranjo concludes with the important role that Immoscoop 2.0 can play in facilitating the search for a new home: 'I believe 300 percent in the story of Immoscoop 2.0, because in this way as real estate agents we can collaborate even better. Immoscoop is a real estate platform created for and by the real estate sector, together with major bank KBC. The ultimate goal is for it to become the reference among real estate portals, so that anyone looking for a new home only needs to consult one real estate website to find the complete offer.'
